On Thursday, March 7, 2024, authorities in Manchester arrested a man for a violent assault on a woman in the St. Paul district, during which one of her hands was severed.
The man charged with the serious offense is Clayton Robinson, a 45-year-old construction worker, also known as ‘Dwight Walker’ and ‘Maggie Otto’, who lives on Dapo Drive in Portmore, St. Catherine.

According to reports from the Mandeville police, Robinson initially met the woman through phone conversations and a relationship developed between them.
As the relationship progressed, Robinson discovered that the woman was already involved in another relationship and demanded the return of the money he had given her.
When his demands were not met, an argument ensued.
The authorities stated that on Tuesday, May 22, 2022, at approximately 10:30, Robinson entered the woman’s home in the St. Paul district of Manchester, inflicting multiple lacerations on her body and severing her left hand.
He was apprehended in connection with a separate issue and was positively identified during an identification parade on Thursday, March 7. Following this identification, he was formally charged.
Arrangements for his court appearance are currently underway.
Businessman Arrested in St. Elizabeth for Possession of Illegal Firearm.
According to a recent news report, a 54-year-old businessman from St. Elizabeth is facing criminal charges following an incident where the police allegedly found him in possession of an illegal firearm on Friday morning, March 8th, 2024, along Amos Road in St. Elizabeth.

Acting Superintendent Minto, who heads the St. Elizabeth Police, informed Radio Jamaica News that the businessman was apprehended during a police spot check shortly after midnight.
According to the senior cop, the incident unfolded at around 12:30 a.m., along the Amos main road, while a vehicular checkpoint was in progress. The police signaled the driver of a white Honda motor car to stop, and the driver complied. A search of the driver led to the discovery of a 9mm pistol with six live rounds in his possession. The driver was promptly arrested and taken to the Santa Cruz police station, where formal charges will be filed against him.
Furthermore, the vehicle was confiscated by the police.
Acting Superintendent Minto emphasized that the police spot check was part of expanded operational efforts in the parish.
“We are continuing these operations throughout the parish to ensure the safety of our community, not only on our roads but also in response to a recent surge in shootings and homicides,” he noted.
Three Out of 10 Wanted Men from St. Elizabeth Now in Custody.
Three out of ten men named on the St. Elizabeth police’s most wanted list have been apprehended. Acting Superintendent Coleridge Minto, the head of the St. Elizabeth Police, revealed this information. Jerome Bartley, who was charged with rape, as well as Christopher Morgan and Shamar Morgan, who have both been charged with wounding with intent, have voluntarily surrendered and are scheduled to appear in court soon.
Acting Superintendent Minto appealed to the remaining individuals on the list–urging them to seek legal counsel and present themselves to the Black River CIB for further processing.
The individuals still evading authorities are Lincoln Farquharson, wanted for rape and grievous sexual assault; Devon Blake wanted for engaging in sexual activity with a person under the age of 16; and David Pottinger, who is wanted for a similar offense.
Aldaine Bailey, from Union district, is wanted for buggery, and Lloyd White, with an address in Manchester, is wanted for rape.
The other individuals being pursued are Andrew Carby and Fabian Brown, both wanted for sexual-related offenses.
Seizure of M16 Rifle and Ammunition in St. James.
An M16 rifle and a significant quantity of ammunition were confiscated in St. James.
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Members of the St James police’s operational support team and the military seized an M16 rifle during a targeted raid at Green Tank, Rose Heights, in the parish on Friday, March 8, 2024.

The raid, conducted between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm, aimed to apprehend “wanted men, prohibited weapons, and unauthorized ammunition,” as per the police.
Authorities reported that the black and chrome M16 rifle with an illegible serial number, along with a magazine containing nine 5.56 mm rounds, was found concealed under a cellar during the premises search.
Suspect Faces Charges in Killing of Producer.
A man has been charged in connection with the murder of a prominent 26-year-old music producer on Constant Spring Road, St Andrew, on February 24.

Karmarley Coburn, 30, of Premix Road in Papine, St Andrew, has also been charged with shooting with intent and wounding with intent. According to reports from the Constant Spring police, at around 2:20 a.m., Keshawen Young of Hope Avenue, Mandeville, Manchester, was attending a party.
It is said that upon parking his car, two armed men approached him and opened fire, injuring him and another man.
The gunmen then reportedly fled in a Honda Stream car. A police team responded to reports of gunfire and assisted the injured individuals to the hospital, where Young was pronounced dead and the other man received medical attention.
Following an investigation, the accused was apprehended and charged on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, after being interviewed and providing a statement in the presence of his attorney.
His court appearance date is pending.
A gun left at a police station for safekeeping went missing.
The St Thomas police have initiated an inquiry into the disappearance of a firearm left at the Morant Bay Police station for safekeeping. It has been reported that a licensed firearm holder visited the station recently and left his Glock pistol there for safekeeping.

Upon returning on Friday, March 1, 2024, to retrieve his firearm, it was found missing. A senior officer in the division has confirmed receipt of reports regarding this incident. A source involved in the investigation has informed the media that all police personnel who were on duty in the guard room during the period the firearm was left there are under investigation.
