Four people, including two women, were shot by hoodlums in Savanna-la-Mar.

During a Valentine’s Day party on Beckford Street in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, four people, including two women, were shot and injured at a popular bar.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. The victims, all residents of Westmoreland, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to the police, the victims were attending a party at a popular bar on Beckford Street, Savanna-La-mar, when a motorcycle carrying two men arrived.

The men then brandished firearms and opened fire at the crowd, causing patrons to flee for cover. The police have not determined a motive for the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Red Hills police reported that the incident transpired during a joint police and military operation in the Rock Hall Square and Red Hills communities.

The individual’s behavior raised suspicion among the security officers, prompting them to approach and conduct a thorough search.

Upon searching the suspect, law enforcement discovered a Taurus pistol with an attached magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition.

The authorities have chosen to withhold the suspect’s identity as they continue their investigation and prepare formal charges.

An illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition were seized by the police on Valentine’s Day during an operation in Olympic Gardens, Kingston 11.

According to the Olympic Gardens Police, a team of law enforcement officers was on an operation along Wint Road when they searched a premise sometime after 4:00 p.m.

During the search, a Glock 9mm pistol, fitted with a magazine containing five rounds, was found at the rear of the premises under a sheet of zinc.

The weapon was subsequently retrieved; however, no one was arrested regarding the seizure. The investigations are ongoing.
