Fatal Confrontation with Police in St. James, Jamaica

The St. James police have reported a fatal incident involving a man they were actively seeking on Tuesday evening, January 9, 2024.

The deceased, identified as Kenroy Roach, also known as ‘Tick A Weed,’ aged 34, was a resident of Bogue Hill in St. James and was wanted for several serious crimes, including murders, shootings, and the possession of illegal ammunition.

Reports indicate that on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., law enforcement officers carried out an operation in the Bogue Hill community, during which Roach and three other men allegedly opened fire at the police when approached at a local shop.

Following the exchange of gunfire, Roach was found at the back of the shop, suffering from gunshot wounds and in possession of a Glock pistol containing two 9mm rounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Roach was pronounced dead.

The fate of the other three men involved is currently unknown as the police continue their search for them.

Two shot, one fatally, in St Ann

ST ANN, Jamaica – The St. Ann’s Bay police were called to the scene of a shooting where a man was fatally shot by unknown assailants. Simultaneously, another man was injured in an exchange of gunfire involving the police in St. Ann’s Bay, St. Ann, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Winston Scott, a fisherman and employee of Chukka Cove Water Sports.

According to police reports, at approximately 9 a.m., Scott was attacked by gunmen and suffered fatal injuries in the ensuing gunfire.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers came under fire from the gunmen. The officers reportedly returned fire, resulting in one man being shot and wounded.

Additionally, the police recovered two firearms and a quantity of ammunition.

The wounded man was admitted to the hospital under police guard.

Investigations into the incident are currently ongoing.
