RED HILLS ROAD, St ANDREW, Jamaica–Gumshoes attached to the St. Andrew North police have commenced an investigation into the tragic shooting incident that claimed the lives of two individuals along Red Hills Road during the early hours of Tuesday morning, December 19, 2023.

The victims have been identified as Shavana Palmer, 30 years old, who was also known as ‘Shavi,’ and Corey Hunter, 26 years old, commonly referred to as ‘Twinnny,’ both residents of Colbeck Avenue in Kingston 20.
According to a report from The STAR, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the two men, who worked as delivery bikers, were seated in the vicinity after completing a job when a motor vehicle approached them.
Several armed individuals disembarked from the vehicle and commenced an unprovoked attack on the bikers before making their escape in the waiting car.
The police promptly responded to the incident. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered the lifeless bodies of the two victims lying in a pool of blood, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel at the hospital later confirmed the unfortunate demise of the two men upon their arrival.
At present, the police have yet to ascertain the motive behind this harrowing shooting incident.
St. James man facing charges after allegedly shooting at girlfriend.
ANCHOVY, ST JAMES, Jamaica–The St. James Police apprehended a male suspect following an unsettling incident involving his girlfriend during a domestic dispute in Anchovy, St. James. The individual in question is now facing charges of attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm.

This distressing event reportedly took place on Sunday, December 17, 2023, shortly after 9 p.m. within the confines of Anchovy Meadows.
According to reports, the 34-year-old victim shares a child with the alleged perpetrator. She visited his residence, where a heated argument ensued.
During the altercation, the suspect purportedly resorted to violence, using a firearm to strike the woman’s face, inflicting severe injuries. Additionally, a single shot was fired in her direction, mercifully missing its mark.
Subsequently, the complainant proceeded to file a report at the local police station.
Promptly taking action, law enforcement intercepted the suspect while he was operating a motor vehicle, placing him under arrest.
Regrettably, the firearm in question was not found during the search. The suspect currently remains in custody, awaiting indictment.
Police probing robbery of American tourists in Portland.
FOLLY RUINS, PORTLAND, JAMAICA–Detectives in Portland have initiated an active investigation into the incident involving a group of individuals who allegedly perpetrated a robbery against two American tourists in the parish on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
The unfortunate victims, both students hailing from Alaska, reportedly fell victim to this harrowing ordeal at the revered Folly Ruins attraction.
According to reliable accounts, these US nationals, who were enjoying a vacation in the serene environs of Portland, initially visited Winnifred Beach in Fairy Hill. Subsequently, they availed themselves of the services of a motor vehicle operating as a taxi, which was intended to transport them to Port Antonio.
Regrettably, their journey took a perilous turn when the driver deviated from the expected route, leading them instead to Folly Ruins. Upon arrival, the unsuspecting tourists were ambushed by three masked assailants brandishing menacing knives. Tragically, the criminals proceeded to forcefully deprive the victims of their valuable possessions, including currency in both US dollars and Jamaican denominations, mobile phones, as well as debit and credit cards.
Thankfully, these brazen perpetrators refrained from inflicting physical harm upon the tourists, sparing them from further distress and anguish during this traumatic experience. Rest assured, the law enforcement authorities are diligently pursuing all available leads in their determined efforts to locate and apprehend the culprits responsible for this heinous act.
