ST JAMES, Jamaica–Jamaican law enforcement officers have apprehended two men who were wanted by US authorities in St. James. These individuals are now facing extradition to the United States on criminal charges related to lottery scamming.
According to reliable sources, the law enforcement agencies carried out pre-dawn operations in Paradise Heights and Montego West Village, resulting in the successful arrests of the suspects. This operation was led by a joint effort of the Lottery Scam Taskforce, Jamaica Fugitive Apprehension Team members, and the army.
At present, the authorities have chosen not to disclose the identity of these men.
The arrests were made based on extradition warrants issued by US authorities, who have accused the individuals of engaging in money laundering, mail fraud, wire fraud, and other illegal activities associated with lottery scamming. Police Constable Arrested on Suspicion of Sexually Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend
ST JAMES, Jamaica – A disturbing incident has unfolded in St. James, as authorities have confirmed the arrest of a police officer on allegations of sexual assault against his ex-girlfriend.
The constable, whose name has not been disclosed, was apprehended by law enforcement officials in the St. James division while he was on duty. This arrest comes after an investigation into the ex-girlfriend’s claims.
According to reports, the constable allegedly deceived his former partner into meeting with him under the pretense of discussing their relationship. During their encounter, he accused her of infidelity and forcibly demanded information about her current romantic involvement.
Shockingly, it is alleged that the police officer physically assaulted the woman before taking her to an undisclosed location, where he reportedly engaged in non-consensual sexual activity.
The victim promptly reported the incident to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), prompting an immediate investigation. The case was subsequently forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) for a ruling.
Although CISOCA declined to comment due to the ongoing investigation, Nationwide News claims to have reliable information that the ODPP has charged the constable with rape and grievous sexual assault.
When the arresting officers confronted the accused constable on Tuesday during his duty, he reportedly resisted their efforts, necessitating the intervention of additional law enforcement personnel to ensure compliance.
The constable remains in custody as authorities continue their investigation into this grievous allegation.
Security Guard Charged with Murder in Clarendon
CLARENDON, Jamaica–Detectives in Clarendon have charged a security guard in connection with the fatal shooting of Joseph McLean. The incident occurred on December 7th, 2023, in Juno Crescent, May Pen, Clarendon.
The accused, Siran Walford, also known as McKay, age 33, and a resident of Juno Crescent, faces multiple charges, including murder, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.
According to the police report, Joseph McLean, 31 years old, was at a local bar in the community when he was approached by three men, including Walford. Without warning, the assailants opened fire on McLean before fleeing the scene in a waiting vehicle.
Tragically, medical personnel at the hospital were unable to save McLean’s life, and he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Following an intensive investigation, the police apprehended Walford on December 8th, 2023. After a comprehensive question and answer session, he was officially charged on December 12th, 2023.
The date for Walford’s court appearance is currently pending.
