According to reports, on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at approximately 2 p.m., the victim, Robinson, was sitting along Fustic Road in Montego Bay, St James, when he was targeted by an assailant who arrived on a motorcycle. Without warning, the perpetrator opened fire, fatally shooting Robinson in the head before fleeing the scene.
Members of the public who witnessed the incident acted swiftly and transported the gravely injured victim to Cornwall Regional Hospital. Tragically, despite their efforts, Robinson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Upon receiving the report of this heinous attack, the Montego Bay Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) wasted no time in launching a comprehensive investigation. Utilizing CCTV footage and conducting extensive community canvassing, the police worked diligently to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. Their efforts led to the arrest of Tyrece Hunter, also known as ‘Bobby,’ a 20-year-old motorcycle mechanic from Johns Hall, St James, on December 4, 2023.
During the arrest, law enforcement officers discovered the motorcycle used in the crime, which they seized as evidence. Following an interview with detectives, Tyrece Hunter reportedly confessed to his involvement in the murder.
