Police charged laborer with robbery after allegedly robbing teen of $40k.

GREENVALE, TRELAWNY, Jamaica— Police in Trelawny arrested and charged a male suspect after he allegedly used a knife and held up and robbed a teen boy of $40,000 in Greenvale District, Trelawny on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Charged with robbery with aggravation is Shawn Yackle, age 31, a laborer of the Pimento Walk district in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

According to the authorities, at about 3:00 p.m., on the day in question, a teen on his way to deliver $40,000 was intercepted by Yackle. Yackle pulled a knife and robbed the teen of the cash.

On Wednesday, November 01, 2023, the teen’s father saw Yackle in Falmouth and summoned the police. The police arrested Yackle and charged him after a question-and-answer session.

His court date is pending.

Police charged two men with possession of a prohibited weapon and ammo

KINGSTON, Jamaica– Law enforcement officers arrested and charged two suspects following the seizure of one pistol and 14 rounds of ammunition allegedly found in their possession along Spanish Town Road, Kingston 14, in October 2023.

Charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, possession of a prohibited weapon with intent to traffic, and trafficking a prohibited weapon are 27-year-old Patrick Bishop, a taxi operator of Tobias Street, Kingston 13, and 28-year-old Carlos Johns, a delivery man of Tewari Crescent, Kingston Central.

According to the police report, both men were traveling in a Toyota Probox motorcar when the police stopped them and searched their person and the vehicle.

During the search, the police found one Smith and Wesson .40 pistol with a magazine containing fourteen .40 cartridges.

Both men were arrested and charged on Wednesday, November 01.

The court appearance date is pending.
