Man pled guilty to kidnapping and murder of politician’s daughter. 

On Thursday, October 26, 2023, law enforcement authorities announced that one of the four suspects charged with the kidnapping and murder of baby Sarayah Paulwell and her mother had pled guilty to two counts of murder.

The police withheld the confessed murderer’s name for security reasons.

According to reports, the prisoner pled guilty to two counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping in the Home Circuit Court on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

A date for sentencing is pending.

Three other persons, two men, and a woman, remain before the Court in the case.

According to reports, the man who pleaded guilty drove the other accused to where 10-month-old Sarayah Paulwell and her mother, 27-year-old Toshyna Patterson, were killed.

Further reporting stated that he collected money from the female defendant, which he paid to the men after the mother and daughter were eliminated and burned.

The female defendant allegedly took out a $500,000 murder contract on the mother and daughter.

The accused abducted the mother and daughter from their Gilmour Drive home in St Andrew on September 9, 2023.

On Thursday afternoon, October 26, 2023, law enforcement officers responded to the scene of another double murder in Salt Spring, St James.

A preliminary report from the police stated that between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., unknown thugs shot and killed a male and a female in the community.

The police have yet to establish the identity of the victims, but according to residents, both victims are from the Salt Spring Community.

The St Catherine Police Department has launched a round-the-clock search for 25-year-old Nathan Whitter, an inmate at the Tamarind Farm Adult Correctional Centre, who escaped custody on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

According to the authorities, at about 11:36 a.m., Whitter was among a group of inmates working on the farm under supervision when officers saw him running toward

the main road.

The correctional officers on the ground reportedly gave chase. Still, Whitter eluded them. 

Whitter was awaiting trial for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The Spanish Town PD is appealing to anyone with information on the whereabouts of Nathan Whitter to contact them at 984-2305, police 119 emergency, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, the police remind members of the public that it is a criminal offense to harbor fugitives.
