Police slapped a Kingston man with gun and murder charges.

Kingston Western Police have apprehended and formally charged a suspect, widely known as ‘Brown Man’, for a series of criminal offenses that occurred on Wavel Avenue on Friday, July 7, 2023.

The individual in question has been identified by the authorities as Jordan Raphael, a 22-year-old plumber residing on Metcalf Road in Kingston 13. Raphael now faces charges of murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, wounding with intent, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

According to the Denham Town Police, the incident unfolded at approximately 4:20 a.m. on the aforementioned day. Raphael and several other men emerged from a motor vehicle on Wavell Road in Kingston 11, opening fire on Ricardo Williams and two other individuals before fleeing the scene.

Promptly responding to the incident, law enforcement officers swiftly transported the victims to the hospital. Tragically, Ricardo Williams succumbed to his injuries, while the other wounded individuals were admitted for necessary medical care.

Upon gathering testimonies from the injured parties, the police initiated a comprehensive investigation, culminating in the successful apprehension of Jordan Raphael during a special operation.

Following a thorough question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of his legal counsel, Raphael was officially charged by the police.

The pending court date will determine the next course of action in this ongoing case.

Police charged three men with robbery in St Thomas.

St. Thomas police arrested and charged three suspects with robbery after they held up and robbed the complainant at her home on October 19, 2023, on Morant Road, St. Thomas.

The authorities identified the suspects as 41-year-old Gregory Lumsden, a laborer of Phillips Avenue, Lyssons in St. Thomas; Romario Powell, a 26-year-old painter of 4th Street; and Romario Coburn, a 29-year-old unemployed of 2nd Street, Kingston 12.

The police charged the men with robbery with aggravation, possession of a prohibited weapon, and receiving stolen property.

The Morant Bay Police stated that at about 9:15 p.m., the complainant was sitting on her veranda when the three masked men approached her, one armed with a handgun and the other two with knives.

The complainant said the man armed with the gun pointed it at her and demanded her Samsung Galaxy S10+ cellular phone valued at US$500 and her Brown Meelar shoulder bag valued at US$80, to which she complied.

Upon hearing the commotion, another woman went outside to check, where one of the other two men held her up with a knife and took her Green Samsung Galaxy A14 valued at US$200. The men then escaped.

The complainants reported the incident to the police.

The police launched an investigation and later intercepted the suspects in Lyssons.

Lumsden, who is known to the police, ran. The police arrested the other two men and found the properties reported stolen in their possession.

The police subsequently arrested Lumsden at his home.

The authorities arrested the men after a question-and-answer interview.

The court date for their case is still pending.
