Narcotics Gum Shoes charged a suspect with several breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act after the seizure of three kilograms of cocaine with a street value of approximately US$150,000 during an operation along Port Henderson Road in Portmore, St Catherine.
The authorities identified the suspect as Amos Lee, 37, of Old Braeton, St Catherine.
The Police charged Lee with:
- Possession of cocaine
- Dealing in cocaine
- Conveying cocaine
- Conspiracy to convey cocaine
According to the allegations, at about noon on Friday, October 13, 2023, law enforcement officers conducted an operation along Port Henderson Road. During the operation, they signaled the driver of a Honda Stream motor car to stop, and he complied.
The Police searched the suspect and the vehicle and found three kilograms of cocaine and $26,000 in his possession.
The Police arrested Lee and subsequently charged him on October 19, 2023, after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His court appearance date is October 24, 2023.
Two men arrested for ‘monitoring’ ABMs in Corporate Area.
On Thursday, October 19, 2023, Law enforcement officers placed two suspects in custody for interrogation after receiving reports that the men were driving around the corporate area monitoring ATMs.
According to media reports, members of the security forces intercepted the Honda Fit motor vehicle the suspects were traveling in along Hope Road.
The men are reportedly from Seaview Gardens.
A gun was found in a package at PNP Headquarters.
A concerned person reportedly found the gun in a box containing items donated to the party’s 89 Old Hope Road base in St Andrew on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
The deputy superintendent in charge of crime in the St Andrew Central Police Division, DSP Sophia Pryce, has confirmed the incident.
The person who donated the items is reportedly overseas.
