Early Friday morning, August 11, 2023, gunmen posing as cops gained entry to a farmer’s house in New Longsville, Clarendon, and gunned him down.
The police identified the deceased as Tyrone ‘Hilroy’ Davis, age 42.
According to reporting, at about 1:30 am, Davis was at home sleeping when loud bangs on his front door and shouts of “Davis! Police, open up, awoke him.”
The police said the farmer complied when the banging got louder from his front and back doors. He opened the front door, and the fake cops opened gunfire, hitting him in the head.
When the police arrived, they found Davis lying on his back with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head.
The police transported him to the May Pen Hospital, where he died. The authorities removed the body to the morgue pending a post-mortem examination.
The police did not establish a motive for the homicide.
An investigation is in progress.

According to reporting, several homes got destroyed by fire, and the authorities believed it was the work of arsonists. One person is in the hospital after sustaining burns.
The police identified the deceased as Roniel Haughton, age 28. Thugs reportedly gunned him down as he drove along Walkers Avenue.
According to preliminary reports, residents heard loud explosions at about 3:30 am on August 12, 2023. Then they saw fire and smoke coming from the buildings.
Thus far, twenty-seven adults and 18 children are reportedly left homeless. And eight houses were destroyed, and three were partially burnt.
The police have recovered several spent shells from the crime scene.
The area has seen an upsurge in gang-related violence in recent months.
