KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police have taken a female suspect into custody concerning the brutal murder of eight-year-old Danielle Rowe. 

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey, the police apprehended the suspect in the Corporate Area on Friday, August 11, 2023, at about 2:30 pm.

DCP Bailey did not divulge any information regarding the identity of the suspect. The suspect is not formally charged.

On June 8, 2023, a female abducted Danielle after leaving Braeton Primary School in Portmore St Catherine. An unidentified soldier later found her on Roosevelt Avenue in St Andrew with her throat slashed. She died at the Bustamante Hospital for Children two days later.

Her family laid her to rest on July 23, 2023.

An off-duty cop shot and injured knife-wielding attacker on Constant Spring Rd

Gum Shoes from the St Andrew Central Police Division arrested and charged two men with wounding with intent concerning a knife incident on Constant Spring Road, Kingston 10, on August 2.

The police identified the accused as Stephen Halstead, age 20, a Pandora Crescent, Kingston 11 student, and Roshawn Minott, age 21, unemployed of Bayview Boulevard, Bull Bay, St Andrew. 

According to the arresting officer’s report, on August 2, 2023, at about 1:50 am, Halstead and Minott, allegedly armed with knives, attacked and stabbed the complainant multiple times.

An off-duty police officer intervened and discharged his licensed firearm toward the men hitting Halstead in the lower body.

Law enforcement officers from the Half Way Tree Police Station arrived and assisted all three men to the hospital. The medical staff treated Halstead and Minott and later released them into police custody.

The police formally charged both men following a question-and-answer session in the presence of their attorney on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

Their court date is pending.

A fearless thug shot and killed a man near Old Harbor police station.

Detectives assigned to the Old Harbor police station in St Catherine have launched a search for a male suspect who allegedly shot and killed a man near the Old Harbor police station on Thursday, July 10, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Kierel Plummer, age 31, a late laborer of the Bannister Housing Scheme in Old Harbor, St Catherine.

According to reporting, at about 6:40 pm, on the day in question, Plummer was walking along the roadway on Darlington Drive when an armed man approached him and opened gunfire–hitting him in the upper body before escaping on foot in the community.

The police arrived on the scene and transported the injured man to the hospital, where he died.
