Thugs gunned down Jae’s ‘Knife and Fork’ proprietor and chef at home.

Kingston Jamaica–Detectives from the Constant Spring Police Department have opened an investigation into the murder of a chef and business owner at his home at Calabar Mews, Kingston 20, on Tuesday night, June 27, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Federick Beckford, age 35, late proprietor of Jae’s Knife and Fork.

The police said at about 9:20 pm, Beckford, an ex-member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), had just arrived home when armed thugs pounced upon him and opened fire, hitting him several times before they fled the scene in a waiting car.

Residents summoned the police. And upon the arrival of the police, the law enforcers rushed the injured man to the hospital, where he died.

The Constant Spring police are investigating.

Police charged a Trelawny man with human trafficking and false imprisonment of a woman.

Trelawny Jamaica–According to media reports, the police charged a Trelawny man after he allegedly held a woman captive for close to one year and subjected her to sexual abuse. 

On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, the police charged Shamarie Spencer, age 37, resident of the Wakefield community, Trelawny, with human trafficking, false imprisonment, possession of a prohibited weapon, assault at common law, assault occasioning bodily harm, and benefiting from human trafficking.

According to the police report, the woman needed a place to stay. And Spencer told her she could stay at his home, and she accepted.

The complainant said between March 2022 and February 2023, the accused allegedly beat and threatened her with a gun and locked her inside the house to prevent her from leaving.

The complainant said the accused reportedly took several men to the house, and they paid him to have sexual intercourse with her.

News of the abuse reached the police. And on June 27, 2023, the police conducted a targeted operation in the Wakefield community, where they arrested and charged Spencer.

His court appearance date is July 12, 2023.

Armed Thugs gunned down Taxi operator in Hanover.

Hanover JamaicaArmed thugs fatally shot a taxi operator at his home in Sandy Bay, Montpellier, in Hanover, on Tuesday night, June 27, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as St O’Brian ‘Cuban’ Downey, a late resident of Sandy Bay.

According to the police, Downey was at home when armed thugs invaded his house and opened fire, hitting him multiple times. 

Concerned residents alerted the police. Upon their arrival, the police found Downey suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The police rushed him to the hospital, where he died.

The Sandy Bay and Lucea police are investigating the killing.
