Lottery Scam Task Force charged St. James man with lottery scamming.

On Monday, June 26, 2023, detectives assigned to the Lottery Scam Task Force arrested and charged a man following a series of evidence-gathering operations in St. James.

Detectives charged Marklando Lamey, age 29, of Valley Heights, Green Pond, St James, with possessing identity information.

The police said they apprehended Lamey during an operation at premises in Cornwall Court, in Montego Bay, in St. James, after an onsite analysis of his mobile phone unlocked multiple files containing identity information of people living abroad. 

The police took Lamey to his abode in Valley Heights, where they carried out a search. And during the investigation, they found documents populated with names, addresses, and telephone numbers of people living overseas inside a vanity drawer.

The investigation is ongoing.

Manchester Gum Shoes charged ‘Dudus’ with burglary and larceny in Manchester.

Manchester detectives arrested and charged Derrick ‘Dudus’ Morgan, age 19, with robbery after he allegedly broke into a woman’s house on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

According to the police report, on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at about 9:00 pm, the woman locked and secured her dwelling in the Pike district and went on the road.

She returned home at about 3:00 am Monday, June 26, 2023, and found Morgan near her home. She made further checks and discovered that somebody had broken a window, entered her house, and stolen $1500.

The complainant summoned the police. The police apprehended Morgan and placed him in custody.

During an interview, Morgan gave a caution statement to the police admitting to the crime. The police later charged him with burglary and larceny.

His court date is pending.
