Thugs shot and killed one person and injured six others at Pilots Place, Bridgewater, Westmoreland, on Sunday morning, June 25, 2023.
The police identified the deceased as Lasharoo Shaw, o/c, ‘Dwayne,’ age 38, a late pineapple farmer of Belfont in St James.
The commanding officer for Westmoreland, Senior Superintendent Wayne Joseph, confirmed the shooting. He said the unfortunate incident occurred at about 9:40 am at Pilots Place Jerk Center Sunday morning, June 25, 2023, following a party Saturday night, June 24, 2023.
According to the senior police officer, Shaw, the host of the Saturday night party and a crew were doing post-party cleanup when three armed men alighted from a white Toyota motor car and opened fire on the group, hitting the host and six other community members.
A complainant summoned the police. Upon arrival, the police rushed the victims to the hospital, where the medical staff pronounced Shaw dead and admitted the other six for treatment, one of which is in critical condition.
The police are yet to confirm a motive for the shooting. An investigation is in progress.
Sunday morning double murder in Arnett Gardens.
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – According to media reports, unknown assailants shot and killed two men on West Road, in Zimbabwe, Arnett Gardens, St Andrew, Sunday morning, June 25, 2023.
The police identified the deceased as Jaheim ‘Jah-Jah‘ Walker, age 20, and Tajay O’neil Watson, age 20. Both men are late residents of Paradise Courts in Zimbabwe, Arnett Gardens, St Andrew.
According to the report, at about 9:35 am, on June 25, 2023, Walker and Watson were sitting inside the premises at Paradise Court when armed thugs approached them and opened fire, hitting both men.
Residents summoned the police, and upon arrival, the police rushed the injured men to the Kingston Public Hospital, where both men died.
The police theorize that Walker was the intended target of the attack. He reportedly was a Top Sunlight Street gang member who is feuding with the Bottom Sunlight Street gang.
Detectives from the Kingston Western Police Division are investigating the double murder.
