ST JAMES, Jamaica — The St James police said they have arrested and charged Freddy Harrison, o/c ‘Cat,’ from the Flankers Community, with the 2019 shooting death of Nemhard Goulborne, o/c ‘Belly, or ‘Lance,’ age 25, a container stripper in Seaview Heights, St James.

According to the Coral Gardens police, on the day in question, at about 8:45 pm, the accused was at Goulborne’s home repairing a water pipe when an altercation developed between the two men.

The police said Harrison allegedly brandished a gun and opened gunfire at Goulborne, hitting him and another man, before escaping on foot.

Citizens in the community summoned the police to the scene. Upon their arrival, the police found both men hemorrhaging from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to their upper body. The police rushed the injured men to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced Goulbourne dead and admitted the other man in serious condition.

The police launched an investigation into the shooting. And after following leads for four years, they finally apprehended Harrison on Friday, May 26, 2023, during a targeted operation in the Hurlock community in St James.

The police charged Harrison with murder after a complainant pointed him out on an identification parade on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. The police are yet to finalize his court date.

Three killed during a drive-by attack in Clarendon identified.

The Clarendon police have identified the three people who unknown thugs gunned down in a brazen drive-by attack on Friday, June 2, 2023. 

According to the Gleaner, the names of the victims are Kelvin Anderson, o/c Styla, age 42 years, truck operator of Peckham District; Cecil Ricketts, o/c Parch, shopkeeper of Grantham District and Delroy Facey, o/c Skeng Don, o/c Missa Don; age 56 years, farmer of Belmont District—all three victims are from the parish of Clarendon.

According to media reports, the three victims were at the shop owned by Cecil Ricketts when a motor vehicle pulled up alongside the shop. And armed thugs exited and fired multiple shots at the victims. The men then fled the scene in the waiting vehicle.

Concerned citizens alerted the police. Upon arrival, the police found the three victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The police rushed the men to the hospital, where authorities pronounced them dead.

The police are working to establish a motive for the shooting and bring the culprits to justice.
