According to news reports, a popular bread vendor from St James was shot and killed near downtown Montego Bay on Saturday, May 27, 2023. 

The police identified the deceased as Romario Anderson, o/c ‘Ryan,’ age 27, of Vernon Drive, in Montego Bay, St James.

The police report stated that at about 9:30 pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023, Anderson was at the location where he sells bread along Market Street when a lone thug approached him and opened fire, hitting him multiple times.

The thug then fled the area on foot.

Citizens alerted the police. Upon arrival, the police rushed Anderson to the hospital, where the authorities treated and admitted him in critical condition. Unfortunately, Anderson would later succumb to his injuries on Sunday morning, May 28, 2023.

The police have launched an investigation. 

Man who was on the run for a Linstead murder arrested

A man murder suspect who has eluded the police for almost three years concerning a fatal stabbing in Linstead, St Catherine, is now in police custody.

The police say they arrested the man during an operation on the rural outskirts of Linstead on Sunday, May 28, 2023. He was wanted in connection with the stabbing death of Dwight Thompson of Linstead, St Cathrine, on November 11, 2020.

The police have scheduled a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney, after which they will charge the accused with murder.

According to the police, the men were on Fort Street in Linstead when a dispute developed between them.

And the suspect allegedly used a knife to stab Thompson, who later died from his injuries.

OBSERVER ONLINE said information reaching its office suggested that the incident happened sometime after midday on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Painter lost his life after challenging thugs at a bar in Manchester.

The Manchester police are probing the circumstances surrounding the murder of a man in Old England in the parish on Sunday night. 

The police identified the deceased as Dennis Barrett, o/c ‘Bolie,’ age 45, a painter from the Brockenhurst community.

At approximately 11:00 pm on Sunday, May 28, 2023, Barrett was at a sports bar in Old England with the bar’s operator when armed men pounced upon them.

According to unconfirmed reports, the gunmen pointed their guns at the bartender, and Barrett intervened, and a brawl developed between Barrett and one of the gunmen. In the meantime, the bartender ran from the scene, and she heard loud explosions. 

Citizens alerted the police. Upon arrival, they found Barrett with multiple gunshot wounds. They rushed Barrett to the hospital, where he died.
