According to Loop News, Armed thugs shot three people, two fatally, during a brazen attack at a birthday party in Waterford, Portmore, in St. Catherine on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Jason Ivy, age 40, of Trelawny West, and 67- year-old Nicely Johnson, of Deeside Road, both in Waterford, St. Catherine.

The police report stated that at about 6:30 pm, Sunday, May 28, 2023, Ivy and Johnson were among invitees at a birthday celebration when two armed thugs approached them and opened gunfire.

Ivy, Johnson, and the other man received multiple gunshot wounds. Citizens summoned the police. Upon arrival, the police rushed the victims to the hospital, where Ivy and Johnson were pronounced dead, and the other injured person treated.

The Portmore police are investigation.

St Andrew man convicted of killing his dad over empty bottles.

A deadly dispute between a father and his son over empty bottles three years ago has resulted in the son getting convicted of manslaughter concerning the stabbing death of his father.

The court scheduled Dennis Brown Jr to return to court on July 7, 20, 2023, for sentencing after a jury unanimously found him guilty of manslaughter relative to the death of his father, Dennis Brown Sr.

The presiding Justice gave the verdict on Friday, May 27, 2023, at the end of the trial in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston.

According to court documents, in April 2020, Dennis Brown Sr, a laborer and tiler, accused his son of stealing empty bottles he intended to sell to earn additional income.

As a result, an argument developed between the two men at their home on Oddman Lane in St Andrew, where Brown Jr. used a knife and stabbed his father.

The police rushed the wounded man to hospital, where he pronounced died.

Brown Jr was subsequently arrested and charged.
