ST ANN, Jamaica – According to media reports, on Thursday morning, May 25, 2023, two men robbed a game shop of more than $2.9 million in the Little Pub Plaza in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

The news report stated that at about 9:40 am, May 25, 2023, a bartender at the Lucky Numbers shop had just opened the gaming shop and bar establishment when one man entered and asked for a cigarette. Shortly after that, a second customer arrived and ordered half a flask of rum.
And while the bartender was tending to the customer who ordered the rum, the customer who ordered the cigarette pulled a firearm, pointed it at her, and demanded money.
The gunmen then took approximately $2,987,500 cash from an unlocked safe and $6,200 from the bar. The men then escaped on foot.
The Ocho Rios police are investigating.
Nothin’ nah gwan a Jamaica,’ says stowaways
According to the police, the two would be stow-aways who were seen getting picked up from the waters of the Kingston Harbour in a video hinted that the reason they attempted to stow away was that “nothin’ nah gwan a Jamaica.”
According to the police, a Marine police team patrolled Kingston Harbour at about 8:30 am on Sunday, May 22, 2023, when they came across two men keeping a float with tubes.
The men, who declared themselves fishermen from the Port Royal area, were brought onboard the police vessel and searched. The police did not find any weapons.
The police theorized that the men intended to stow away on a ship and take the three to ten-day journey from Kingston Harbour to the United States.
The commanding officer for the police’s marine division, Superintendent Robert Walker, advised the public not to put their lives at risk stowing away on boats.
“The journey can prove detrimental to those who take it. Especially since they will be at sea for an extended period with little to no food and/or water,” Walker explained.
