Retired bus driver shot dead by unknown thugs in St Ann.

 ST ANN, Jamaica– On Tuesday morning, April 11, 2023, unknown thugs shot and killed a 67-year-old man at his home in Exchange, St Ann home.

The police identified the deceased as Christopher Smith, age 67, a retired bus driver from Hand To Mouth Street in Exchange, St Ann.

According to reports, at about 5:30 am, April 11, 2023, Smith was at home attending to his flower garden when citizens heard loud explosions and summoned the police.

On arrival, the police found Smith’s body lying face down in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds to the back of his head.

The police transported Smith to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead. 

The police found two spent casings at the scene of the crime.

US citizen robbed, then shot and killed in St Ann.

 ST ANN, Jamaica — On Monday night, April 10, 2023, unknown thugs robbed and fatally shot an American resident at his Moneague, St Ann home.

The police identified the deceased as Gregory McIntosh, age 43, a Brooklyn, New York, taxi operator. He had just arrived on the island. And at about 8:00 pm, three armed men entered the house, robbed McIntosh of an undetermined sum of money, and shot and killed him.

The robbers ran from the premises and escaped in a waiting car.

Citizens summoned the police to the location, where they found McIntosh lying in blood with multiple gunshot wounds to his head.

The police removed the body to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.

Portland father, 55, charged with raping 14-year-old daughter

PORTLAND, Jamaica: The Portland police department reported that it has arrested and charged a 55-year-old man with rape. The police said the man allegedly raped his 14-year-old daughter in Portland.

According to preliminary reports, the incident happened recently at the father’s home when the child went to get lunch money.

The police confirmed the man’s arrest but declined to release his identity to protect the minor victim.

Strange sounds alerted the complainant to an intruder in her bedroom.

A construction worker from Violent Bank in Gordon Town, St Andrew, is waiting to face the court after he allegedly broke into a woman’s house and attacked her inside her bedroom in his community a month ago.

The police identified the man as 22-year-old Jheovahny Roach. The police charged him with burglary and assault with intent to rape.

According to reports, at about 12:15 am on March 19, 2023, a woman was at home when she heard strange sounds coming from her bedroom and went to investigate.

The accused allegedly attacked the complainant, holding an ice pick to her neck. He also reportedly removed her shirt, used it to cover her mouth, and attempted to remove her underwear, but he was unsuccessful.

After not getting his way with the woman, Roach fled the scene.

The woman made a report to the police, and law enforcement officers arrested Roach during an operation at his home on April 4.

The police charged him following an interview. A court date is pending.
