One dead, four injured in St Ann motor vehicle collision.

One woman is dead, and four people are injured during a motor vehicle collision on the Discovery Bay Main Road in St Ann Monday evening, April 10, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Valerie Daley, age 51, of a Trelawny address.

According to reports, the accident occurred at about 6:00 pm near Green Grotto Caves. And involved a Toyota Carolla motor car and a Toyota Mark X.

Preliminary reports stated that the driver of the Mark X failed to keep left and collided with the Toyota Corolla in which Daley and three family members were traveling.

The police assisted the five victims to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where Daley was pronounced dead. And the others admitted.

21-year-old student perishes from motorbike crash in St Thomas.

The Yallahs police reported that twenty-one-year-old Michael Stewart, a student of Long Level, Brensbury, St Thomas, has died from injuries he sustained during a motor vehicle collision along Long Level Road in St Thomas on Sunday, April 9, 2023.

According to the police, at about 7:30 pm on Sunday, April 9, 2023, Michael Stewart was driving his motorcycle along Long Level Road in St Thomas. He was traveling in the same direction as a Toyota Probox motor car.

The driver of the Probox signaled and turned left to enter his home. Meanwhile, Stewart had committed to overtaking the Probox while it was turning and collided with the Probox.

Citizens alerted the police. And the police assisted Stewart to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Probox was not injured.

Investigations continue into the incident.

Farmer caught on camera inside woman’s house after a break-in.

A 27-year-old farmer has been arrested and charged with housebreaking and larceny regarding an incident in Luana Housing Scheme in St Elizabeth on February 25.

He is Jermaine Findley, a farmer of Rocky Hill district, also in the parish.

According to the Black River police, on February 25, 2023, at about 3 pm, a woman securely locked her house and left.

Upon return, she discovered that somebody had broken into her house, and several items were missing. 

She reported the incident to the police.

The police identified Findley with surveillance camera footage inside the woman’s house. They arrested and charged him on April 10.

The police are yet to decide on a court date for the accused.

US citizen robbed, killed in St Ann.

 ST ANN, Jamaica — On Monday night, April 10, 2023, unknown thugs robbed and fatally shot an American resident at his Moneague, St Ann home.

The police identified the deceased as Gregory McIntosh, age 43, a Brooklyn, New York, taxi operator. He had just arrived on the island. And at about 8:00 pm, three armed men entered the house, robbed McIntosh of an undetermined sum of money, and shot and killed him.

The robbers ran from the premises and escaped in a waiting car.

Citizens summoned the police to the location, where they found McIntosh lying in blood with multiple gunshot wounds to his head.

The police removed the body to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
