St Andrew South police arrested three Kingston men on gun charges.

Law enforcement authorities have reported that detectives from the St Andrew South Division
arrested and charged three men on gun charges related to an incident on Hagley Park Road, Kingston 10, on March 5, 2023.

Charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unlawful possession of ammunition are Odane Lewis, age 24, of McIntyre Villa, Taryle Sutherland age 25, of Upper Elleston Road, and Courtney Henry, age 28, of Fleet St in Kingston.

According to the police, law enforcement officers operated Hagley Park Road at about 4:30 pm on March 5, 2023, during which they saw a Toyota Camry motor car with the three accused aboard. They signaled the driver to stop, but he disobeyed and sped away.

The police pursued the car, and as they got closer, one of the men threw an object out a window at the intersection of Hagley Park Road and Waltham Park Roads. The police retrieved the object, which was a Glock 26 handgun with a magazine containing nine rounds of ammunition.

The police would later intercept the Camry along Norman Lane in Kingston 13.

The police took the three accused into custody and charged them. Their court date is pending.

Police in Guys Hill St Cathrine have arrested and charged two men with shop breaking and malicious destruction of property. 

Police in Guys Hill St Cathrine have arrested and charged two men with shop breaking and malicious destruction of property. The charges stemmed from a breaking in Ragville District involving the two men on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Charged are Tafari Dockery, 27, a taxi operator of Tivoli Gardens, Kingston. And Shaquille Powell o/c Shack of Wellington Street, Kingston.

According to the police report, at about 8:00 am March 16, 2023, the complainant closed his business and left. Upon his return, he observed that the entrance door to his business place was broken. And four Lucky Draw Roulette boxes were damaged, and cash estimated at J$80,000 was missing.

The business owner reported the matter to the police. The police launched an investigation which led them to Dockery and Powell. The police arrested and charged both men after a question-and-answer session in the presence of their attorneys.

A court date is pending.

Taxi driver and passenger were injured after vehicle got shot in St Elizabeth.

 Unknown assailants shot and injured two men on Saturday morning, March 18, 2023, in Lacovia, St Elizabeth.

According to preliminary reports, the shooters reportedly shot up a vehicle along the Dry Harbour Main Rd in Lacovia. One of the injured men was a taxi operator driving his vehicle during the shooting incident, while the other was a male passenger.

The Corporate Communications Unit confirmed the shooting.

Reports are that the Toyota Noah motor truck got shot up by men traveling in a Nissan AD Wagon. Both occupants in the Toyota were injured and rushed to the Black River Hospital by a taxi operator.

The conditions of the injured men were not available.
