On Thursday, March 2, 2023, the police arrested a man wanted by the police concerning February 25, 2023, shooting at a party in Palmers Cross, Clarendon, at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston.
The police charged Linval Thompson, 31, o/c ‘Saskel’ or ‘Bryan,’ of Chateau District, May Pen, Clarendon, with wounding with intent, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and robbery with aggravation.
The suspect was arrested by detectives from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime (C-TOC) Unit at the Norman Manley International Airport as he attempted to flee the island.
According to the police, on Saturday, February 25, Thompson and an accomplice entered the party and robbed the organizer of $100,000 before opening gunfire at the crowd.
Six people were shot and injured, including a police officer. The injured people were taken to the hospital and treated for gunshot wounds.
The police subsequently charged Thompson. His court date is pending.
