Christopher Hunt, also known as ‘Alkaline,’ is a 29-year-old from Katon Lane, Mount Salem, Montego Bay. Authorities charged him with multiple gun-related felonies. These charges include murder, robbery with aggravation, using a firearm to commit a felony, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The victim is 37-year-old Garry Hamilton. He was a resident of Albion Road in Montego Bay.

According to police reports, around 5:54 p.m. on June 16, Hamilton was standing outside a business establishment. Hunt approached him and attempted to force him inside. When he failed, Hunt reportedly opened fire on Hamilton before robbing the establishment and fleeing the scene.

Police used CCTV footage to apprehend the suspect in St. Catherine the day after the killing and robbery.

The police formally charged on Wednesday, June 25, after allegedly confessing to the crimes.

Investigators have not yet announced a court date for the suspect.

Police officers in Clarendon have arrested and charged two suspects with possession of a prohibited weapon. The police made the arrests on Saturday, June 28, in Effortville, May Pen, after the seizure of an imitation firearm.

Authorities ID the suspects as Carlton Howe, 54, a taxi operator, and 47-year-old Julian Ramlal, a laborer. Both suspects are residents of Donald Avenue in Effortville.

According to a report from the May Pen police, at approximately 5:00 a.m., a police team conducted an operation in the Effortville community.

During the operation, the cops signaled the driver of a white Toyota Probox to stop. The driver complied, and the police effected a search of the vehicle and its occupants.

While searching the vehicle, the officers reportedly found a plastic imitation firearm beneath the front passenger seat.

As a result, the police arrested and later charged both occupants. Their court appearance date is pending.

Reports show that at approximately 6:40 a.m. on June 27, security personnel assigned to the ZOSO conducted a targeted operation on Chico Lane in Norwood.

During this operation, the police seized two firearms, along with 22 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Authorities have withheld the suspect’s identity pending further investigation.
