Fatal Police Incidents: Four Killed in Jamaica. On Friday, May 9, 2025, members of Jamaica’s security forces reportedly shot and killed four citizens. The actions occurred in three separate targeted operations. Three of these incidents occurred in St. Andrew, while one took place in Westmoreland, according to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
INDECOM reported on one of the deadly shootings. The police recovered an illegal Glock 19 9mm pistol. It had four rounds.

During a reported fatal police incident in the Salisbury Plain community of St. Andrew, one man identified as Kemar Lewis was killed, according to police sources and residents.
The police killed the second and third man during an incident along the Shooters Hill main road in Bull Bay in St Andrew.
Law enforcement killed the fourth man during an incident in Kings Valley in Grange Hill, Westmoreland. They identified the deceased as Marv McLaughlin, otherwise called ‘Indian’. He was said to be a high-ranking member of the Toby Gully gang.
The Head of Police Area 4, ACP Phipps, stated that Mr. McLaughlin is connected to multiple criminal incidents. These include a robbery involving Beryllium couriers. They also include a double murder. In the murder, the parents of a police officer were killed in St. Thomas, according to INDECOM.
Besides Lewis and McLaughlin, the police have not yet identified the other two deceased men.
Citizens raised doubts about the Salisbury Plain fatal police incident
In the Salisbury Plain community of St. Andrew, residents claim that the police reportedly sent several children to a bathroom. They were inside the house where Lewis died. This was before the police killed Kemar Lewis and before gunshots were heard.
The police Corporate Communications Unit acknowledged that it was aware of the fatal police incidents. It promised to release details soon.
