INDECOM Investigates Death of 20-Year-Old in Clarendon. The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is investigating the shooting of a woman. An off-duty police officer was involved in this incident at a hotel in Clarendon on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Jimoy Suckoo.
INDECOM received reports indicating that the weapon the police officer was carrying discharged accidentally. This resulted in the injury and subsequent death of Suckoo.
The investigation aims to determine the full circumstances and actions that led to the weapon being fired.
INDECOM has seized the police officer’s firearm. And he has provided the investigative team with a first account of the incident.
Detectives from INDECOM have examined the scene of the incident and collected evidence for processing. They also swabbed the hands of both the deceased and the police officer for gunshot residue.
INDECOM has issued a Section 21 Notice to the officer. This is required by the Independent Commission of Investigations Act of 2010.
This law mandates that the police officer submit a statement and attend an interview.
Since the beginning of the year, members of the security forces have fatally shot eight individuals.
Missing Manchester Man Found Dead in Water Tank
MANCHESTER, Jamaica— Police are investigating a case of suspected drowning. A man was reported missing. His relatives discovered his body floating in a tank behind his house on Sunday in Newport, Manchester.

Law enforcement identified the as 57-year-old Delroy Spencer, a resident of Meadsfield in Newport, Manchester.
According to a police report, Spencer’s relatives reported him missing on Saturday, prompting a search for him.
On Sunday at approximately 1:10 p.m., family members found Spencer’s body floating in the tank behind his house and summoned the police.
The police responded and later transported the body to the morgue, pending an autopsy to verify the cause of death.
Police Identify Body in Manchester: Timothy Burton
The Manchester police have identified the man whose head was discovered in bushes in Manningsfield in Manchester on Saturday.

Law enforcement identified the body as that of 74-year-old Timothy Burton, o/c ‘Tim D’, of Manningsfield district.
The last time anyone saw Burton alive was on December 24, 2024. Those concerned reported him missing the following day.
Reportedly, residents in the community discovered Burton’s body at about 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, after they saw dogs eating his head in bushes.
The Asia police are investigating.
