Murder Charges Filed Against 18-Year-Old in Kingston.

Demoy Pennington, a man from St. Mary, who cops charged on June 30, with the alleged robbery and sexual assault of a woman he met on the Tinder dating application, is now facing additional charges. These new charges relate to a separate incident involving another woman he also reportedly met online. Also, authorities are investigating the tragic death of Anishka Thompson in the Hill Top district of Parottee, a community in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica.

In Kingston, Jamaica, law enforcement has indicted an 18-year-old male in connection with the shooting death of another citizen on Sunday, August 25.

The accused is Alonzo Rhoden, also known as ‘Little King,’ a molder residing on Fairview Avenue, Kingston. He faces several serious charges, including murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

According to police reports, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Rhoden allegedly confronted and shot Shavohn Guthrie, known as ‘Bredie,’ 28, from Marie Drive, Kingston, multiple times while he was walking along the roadway.

Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene to find Guthrie lying in a pool of blood. He was swiftly transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

After a thorough investigation, detectives arrested Rhoden and formally charged him on Wednesday, September 18.

A court date for Rhoden is pending.

In St James, Jamaica, law enforcement reportedly charged a 15-year-old boy from Tenement, Granville, St James.

The teen is facing housebreaking and larceny charges arising from a break-in incident in his community between Sunday, September 8, and Thursday, September 12.

According to police reports, on Thursday, September 12, a man returned home and discovered that somebody had broken into his house through a bedroom window.

Further checks revealed that the locks on his metal safe were opened, and his Remington shotgun, valued at J$85,000, was missing.

The complainant filed a report with the police, leading to an investigation.

On Friday, September 13, a police team cordoned off the Tenement community in search of the missing gun.

During the search of the community, law enforcement recovered the gun from a vegetated area.

On Saturday, September 14, the teen’s mother handed him over to the police, who arrested and charged the teen.

His court date is pending.

In St Ann, Jamaica, detectives have indicted a local woman after allegations of embezzlement exceeding $3 million from her employer.

The accused, identified as Florient Casserly, 52, a customer service representative from Golden Grove in St Ann.

According to the St Ann police, Casserly formerly held the position of cashier at an establishment located in Claremont.

Her responsibilities included collecting customer bill payments, processing transactions, and issuing receipts.

It is alleged that Casserly collected payments from customers, waited for them to leave, and then utilized her supervisor’s login to void the transactions, thus misappropriating the funds.

The complainant initiated an investigation upon receiving reports from concerned customers, which revealed that Casserly had allegedly embezzled a total of $3,380,000.

After the accused did not return the misappropriated funds, the complainant reported the matter to the police.

Subsequently, law enforcement apprehended the accused and formally charged her after a question-and-answer session with her attorney. A court date for the proceedings is pending.

In St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, law enforcement officials have arrested and charged 26-year-old businessman Miguel Myrie from Santa Cruz with assault occasioning bodily harm.

This charge arises from an incident reported involving a female victim in Lacovia, St. Elizabeth, on Saturday, September 14.

According to the St. Elizabeth police, the altercation occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. on the date in question, during which Myrie and the victim, with whom he has an intimate relationship, engaged in a dispute.

It is alleged that during this confrontation, Myrie struck the woman in the face, resulting in visible swelling.

After the incident, the victim reported the assault to the police, who initiated an investigation that led to Myrie’s apprehension.

He has since been charged based on the victim’s account and the findings from a question-and-answer session.

A court date for Myrie is yet to be scheduled.
