Fatal Collision Involving Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Sunny in St. Catherine.

ST. CATHERINE, Jamaica: The carnage on Jamaica’s thoroughfare continues Wednesday night, September 11, along the Old Harbor Main Road. Two men died tragically from injuries they sustained in a two-vehicle collision, the police said.

Authorities said the deadly accident which occurred at about 9:20 p.m., involved a grey 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser and a blue 1994 Nissan Sunny.

As both vehicles reportedly traveled along the roadway, a white Honda motorcar ahead of the Land Cruiser swerved to the right.

The driver of the Nissan Sunny reacted and swerved into the path of the Land Cruiser.

Unfortunately, the two vehicles collided head-on, causing the Land Cruiser to spin and crash into the left embankment.

Both men sustained serious injuries. Passersby swiftly transported them to the hospital, but it was too late. The authorities pronounced them dead on arrival.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officials stated that since the start of the year, the St Catherine North Police Division has recorded 20 collisions, resulting in 21 fatalities.

PORTMORE, St. CATHERINE: The police fatally shot an unidentified man during an altercation in Portmore on Wednesday, September 11. IDECOM has initiated an investigation into the incident.

The incident reportedly took place near Walker Avenue and Cottage Drive in the Gregory Park community.

Law enforcement authorities stated that around 3:40 p.m., a police team approached a residence in the community as part of an operation and was met with gunfire from the suspect.

In response, the police returned fire, injuring the suspect. The individual was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Furthermore, authorities confirmed the recovery of three imitation firearms and a Taurus pistol equipped with a magazine containing four rounds of ammunition.
