Fatal Bar Altercation: Two Charged with Murder in St. Ann, Jamaica.

Police in Westmoreland, Jamaica, arrested and charged a suspect who allegedly attacked a man with a hammer during a dispute. According to reports, the incident occurred on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland. The police identified the accused as Alaska Reid, o/c Masicka, age 20, a laborer from Dexter Street in Westmoreland. Law enforcement charged him with wounding with intent.

In St. Ann, Jamaica, the Ocho Rios police have charged two individuals believed to be responsible for a man’s death after a bar altercation in Parry Town, Ocho Rios, St Ann, on Friday, June 21, 2024.

The victim was identified as 43-year-old laborer Kevin Clarke from Parry Town, St. Ann.

Rushane Allen, known as ‘Coco,’ a construction worker from Buckfield, Ocho Rios, and Toriann Pearson, or ‘Terry,’ a 26-year-old chef from Pimento Walk, Ocho Rios, St Ann, have been charged with murder.

A police report states that around 11 p.m. on June 21, 2024, Clarke engaged in a confrontation at the bar, during which he struck Allen with a bottle before fleeing.

Witnesses detained Clarke, and during the confrontation, Allen and Pearson are alleged to have stabbed him repeatedly.

Moments later, Allen is reported to have struck Clarke on the head with a stone.

Clarke was urgently taken to the hospital by witnesses, where he was listed in serious condition. He was later transferred to another hospital and passed away from his injuries on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

After an investigation, the police apprehended Allen and Pearson on August 7, 2024, when they appeared at the Ocho Rios police station to report a stolen vehicle.

The suspects were officially charged on August 13, 2024, and are awaiting their court date.

ST. CATHERINE, Jamaica–A licensed firearm holder reportedly shot and wounded a man in St. Catherine after he allegedly attacked the firearm holder with a knife. The incident took place on Tuesday morning, August 13, 2024, along Walks Road in St Catherine.

According to the report, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the man, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, was behaving erratically at a local business establishment. Despite warnings from eyewitnesses, he persisted in his behavior.

After leaving the establishment, he returned armed with a ratchet knife, which he used to assault the licensed firearm holder. The holder fired a warning shot, but the man continued to advance.

Fearing for his life, the licensed firearm holder discharged two shots, striking the man twice. The police arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment.

Later the Spanish Town police confiscated the firearm and initiated an investigation into the incident.

HANOVER, Jamaica–A suspect, Omario Whyte, 21, of St Simon district, Hanover, has been arrested and charged by the police for allegedly breaking into a complainant’s apartment, causing damage to appliances, and stealing cash amounting to $150,000.

The charges against him include housebreaking and larceny, as well as malicious destruction of property.

According to the Lucea police, on August 9, 2024, a dispute occurred between the complainant and Whyte while she was at her place of business. During the altercation, Whyte reportedly threatened to break into her house and dispose of her belongings.

After, a neighbor informed the complainant that Whyte had indeed broken into her house and ransacked it. The complainant promptly filed a report with the police, leading to an investigation and a visit to the crime scene by the officers. Upon their arrival, they discovered a damaged fan worth $7,000 and a damaged television valued at $30,000, also the reported missing cash of $150,000.

Whyte was arrested charged by the police on Monday, August 12, 2024. His court appearance date is Thursday, August 20, at the Lucea Parish Court.

The Manchester police detained an individual on the morning of Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in connection with the attempted theft of several hundred meters of FLOW communication cables in Mandeville, Manchester.

Authorities reported that around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, a police patrol intercepted a truck used to remove the cables from underground along Hargreaves Avenue in Mandeville, Manchester.

The police seized the truck involved in the incident and ascertained that its registered address is in Old Harbour, St. Catherine.

The impact on FLOW customers due to the theft and vandalism remains uncertain at this time.

According to the police, five other individuals involved in the operation fled the scene.
