CLARENDON, Jamaica–Law enforcement officials have reportedly identified the eight deceased in the brutal Cherry Tree Lane massacre in Four Paths, Clarendon, on Sunday, August 11, 2024.
The names of the deceased are:
- Aiden Bartley, age 7, student at Four Paths Primary and Infant School.
- Kavel Daley, 27, a therapist.
- Lawrence Francis, age 50, a construction worker
- Diamond Bennett, age 20, a cashier
- Errol Stewart, 58, butcher, also known as ‘Wagga.’
- Jermaine Boothe, 32, also known as ‘Blacks.’
- Courtney Messam, also known as ‘Dumbie.’
- A woman identified as Margaret.
All the victims are from Cherry Tree Lane addresses.
Additionally, officials have confirmed that a one-year-old boy and a 70-year-old woman are among the ten victims admitted to the hospital.
According to reliable news sources, a white Toyota Axio pulled up to a bar hosting a party. Three armed men emerged from the vehicle, carrying rifles and handguns, and began shooting at the gathered patrons.
When the shooting ended, seven-year-old Aiden and three others were pronounced dead at the scene, and two more were pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities report that the gunmen then fled in the direction of the May Pen bypass. Upon reaching another section of Cherry Tree Lane, they stopped at another gathering. Two men exited the vehicle armed with handguns and opened fire at the group before escaping in the awaiting car.
After the second shooting incident, two men tragically passed away at the scene, bringing the total fatalities to eight.
Reports show that the condition of the injured victims is critical.

In Clarendon, Jamaica, police have apprehended four armed motorcyclists near to the location where eight individuals, including a seven-year-old child, were fatally shot on Cherry Tree Lane Sunday night.

Authorities suspect that the bikers were on their way to execute a retaliatory strike after the massacre at Cherry Tree Lane on Sunday night.
The law enforcement officers who apprehended the gunmen were among the forces assigned to keep order in the community after Sunday’s shooting.
The identities of the detained men are being withheld by the police pending ongoing investigations.
St. Mary Businessman and Bartender Charged with Illegal Firearm Possession.
ST. MARY, Jamaica–A businessman and a bartender in St. Mary are now facing charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition. The incident occurred at a bar in Stewart Town on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

The individuals involved have been identified as Kumar Brown, also known as ‘Marlon,’ aged 45, who is a businessman from Rio Nuevo, Boscobel, St. Mary, and Nakaye Johnson, aged 26, a bartender from Huddersfield district, Boscobel, St. Mary.
According to the Port Maria police, at approximately 12:08 a.m. on August 3, 2024, a targeted raid was conducted at the bar, leading to the discovery of a Sig Sauer pistol with a magazine containing fourteen 9mm cartridges under the bar counter.
After an investigation, Brown and Johnson were arrested and have since been formally charged. Their court appearance is scheduled for August 14, 2024.
