ST JAMES, Jamaica – Authorities are currently investigating a suspected case of suicide involving a man who allegedly took his own life inside a female bathroom at Catherine Hall Primary School in West Green, Montego Bay, St James.
The deceased has been identified as Andre Nicholson, a 35-year-old shopkeeper from Catherine Hall.
Law enforcement officials believe that Nicholson ended his life between 9:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
Reports indicate that a school security guard saw Nicholson on the premises around 9:50 p.m. on Saturday before concluding his duties. Upon returning to the location at about 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, the security guard discovered Nicholson’s body in the Grade 5 and 6 female bathroom while conducting routine security checks.
Upon police arrival, Nicholson’s body was found lying on his right side, with an apparent gunshot wound to the right side of his head. He was holding a Glock 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing 17 9mm cartridges.
The authorities removed the body to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where doctors confirmed Nicholson’s passing.
An investigation has been launched, and it has been confirmed that Nicholson did not possess a firearm license as per the Firearm Licensing Authority database.
Residents Discover Deceased Man in Clarendon.
CLARENDON, Jamaica – In the afternoon of May 6, 2024, the residents of the Dam Wall district in Hayes, Clarendon, made a distressing discovery as they came across the body of an unidentified male.

As reported by Observer Online, at approximately 2:34 p.m., the residents stumbled upon the body and promptly alerted the authorities.
Upon arrival, the police uncovered the body of a male in a densely vegetated area, lying on his back and dressed in a black hoodie, black shirt, grey jeans, and black combat shoes.
Law enforcement officials stated that the deceased appeared to be in his 30s, approximately 5ft 8″ tall, and of medium build. He bore visible wounds to the neck and upper body and was found with a blood-soaked backpack on his back.
The Clarendon police are investigating.

On Sunday, May 5, 2024, a collision involving three vehicles—a Toyota Probox, a Honda Fit, and a Nissan March—occurred on Mandela Highway in St. Catherine, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.
Reports indicate that around 8:25 p.m., the vehicles traveling in the same direction approached the Municipal Boulevard intersection. The Toyota Probox driver lost control, struck the Honda Fit, and then slammed into the Nissan March, flipping it over.
Good Samaritans rushed the victims to the hospital, where the Nissan March’s driver was declared dead by medical authorities.

On Monday, May 6, 2024, authorities in St. James confiscated a stash of 60 assorted rounds of ammunition and a magazine during an operation on Pele Drive in Flankers.

According to law enforcement, at approximately 2 p.m., officers equipped with intelligence launched a targeted search at an unoccupied premises. During the search, they confiscated a .45 extended magazine, forty-six 7.62 cartridges, twelve .45 cartridges, and two 9mm rounds of ammunition.
No arrests were made concerning the seizure, and the investigation is ongoing.
