The former cashier, entrusted with over $900,000 for a deposit, has been accused of failing to follow through and allegedly gone into hiding.

Despite being contacted repeatedly, it is reported that Lewis evaded the authorities until after her face appeared on social media in connection with the incident. Her bold move was short-lived, as she surrendered to the police and has now been charged with larceny as a servant.
Her upcoming appearance in the Westmoreland Parish Court in Savanna-la-Mar is highly anticipated.
A Teenage girl was among two apprehended following the seizure of a firearm concealed in a toilet tank.
A female student from a prominent high school in St. Elizabeth and a man are currently in custody following the confiscation of a .44 Smith and Wesson Magnum revolver and one round of ammunition in the community of Brinkley on Friday morning, April 12, 2024.
The Junction Operational Support Team conducted the raid, during which the police also seized paraphernalia related to lottery scamming.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., a team of police officers conducted a targeted operation in the Brinkley community in Junction, St Elizabeth.
Law enforcement officers searched a house and found the firearm with one round of ammunition inside the water tank of the toilet.
The police detained the teenager and the man who were the occupants of the house. The authorities have chosen to withhold their names pending further investigation and formal charges.
Acting Superintendent Coleridge Minto, head of the division, praised the search team for their diligence and attention to detail during this operation. He also mentioned that the police found paperwork indicating scamming activities in the area.
Minto emphasized that detectives will continue their investigations as part of the police’s commitment to removing criminals from the area.
Minto also took the opportunity to urge citizens to come forward with any information regarding illegal firearms or individuals wanted by law enforcement.
Shineka Gray’s murder gets life in prison.
Gregory Roberts, the man convicted for the murderer of 15-year-old schoolgirl Shineka Gray in 2017 has been handed a life imprisonment sentence, with the possibility of parole after 42 years.
This judgment was delivered by High Court Justice Bertram Morrison in the St. James Circuit Court on Friday morning. Following a guilty verdict by a seven-member jury on January 24, Roberts is now facing the consequences of his heinous crime.
Shineka, a grade 10 student, was tragically found dead three days after she was reported missing. Roberts, along with his co-accused Mario Morrison, were later apprehended in connection with the killing.
In separate events, Morrison pleaded guilty in September 2022, striking a plea deal with the state, and was sentenced to life in prison a month later.

MAN SHOT AND KILLED DURING POLICE OPERATION IN ST ELIZABETH, JAMAICA
A man was shot and killed by the police in Grosmond district, St Elizabeth. Another man was detained after a reported shootout with the officers. The deceased man’s identity is still unknown, but he is described as having a dark complexion, a slim build, and being about 5 feet 7 inches tall.
The police seized an illegal firearm during the incident. The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is looking into the matter.
According to the police, a special operation began around 11:30 a.m., targeting raids in the St Elizabeth division. The operation took the team to the Grosmond district to search for a man wanted in connection with several robberies, as well as other wanted men and illegal firearms.
Upon arrival, there was a gunfire exchange between the police and some men on the premises. The police returned fire, and after the shooting subsided, they found an unidentified man with a gunshot wound. A .38 revolver containing four rounds was found near him.
The injured man was taken to the Black River Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The wanted man the police sought was apprehended and taken into custody.
A man tragically lost his life in a gun attack that took place in Central Village.
The St. Catherine South Police are closely monitoring sections of Central Village in St. Catherine following a fatal attack carried out by gunmen in the community on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
37-year-old Timoy Rattigan, a resident of Compound, Central Village, was tragically shot and killed in the incident.
At approximately 2 p.m., Mr. Rattigan was standing at a shop along East Avenue when a group of men indiscriminately opened fire on him using rifles and handguns.
As a result of the attack, Mr. Rattigan sustained multiple bullet wounds and was subsequently pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Furthermore, the scene of the crime yielded the discovery of over a dozen spent shells.
