Big news, guys! Kate, the Princess of Wales, revealed that she’s battling cancer and undergoing chemo.
She opened up about it in a video message recorded on Wednesday and aired on Friday, March 22, 2024.
Since she was in the hospital in January for some kind of tummy surgery, there’s been a lot of buzz on social media about where she’s been and how she’s doing.
Kate asked for some “time, space, and privacy” while she dealt with this unspecified type of cancer.
“I’m doing okay,” she said. “I’m getting stronger daily by focusing on things that will help me heal.”
Kate, who’s 42, hasn’t been out in public since Christmas, but this week a video surfaced of her and her hubby, Prince William, taking a stroll near their Windsor home.
The palace didn’t say much about Kate’s condition other than that it wasn’t cancer-related, that the surgery went well and that she won’t be doing her princess duties until April.
This news is another blow for the royal family, especially after finding out last month that King Charles III is also dealing with some type of cancer that was caught while he was getting treated for a big prostate.
Charles, who’s 75, has backed away from public stuff while getting treatment, but he’s still been showing up in pictures and meeting important people. On the other hand, Kate has been out of sight, leading to lots of guessing and gossip. They tried to shut down the rumors by releasing a photo of her on Mother’s Day with her three kids but then had to take it back because it was edited.
Kate made a statement the next day, saying she likes to “play around with editing” and is sorry for any confusion, but that didn’t stop the rumors.
Even when The Sun and TMZ posted a video of Kate and William shopping, some people still didn’t believe it was her.
While the road ahead may be difficult, Kate and the royal family’s strength and resilience are truly admirable. We hope they receive the privacy and understanding they deserve during this challenging period.
