The St Thomas police arrested and charged two teen boys, ages 15 and 17, with rape after they allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl behind a church in Yallahs, St Thomas.
The authorities charged the teens with rape and aiding and abetting rape.
The police report that at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, January 01, 2024, The boys forcefully dragged the girl behind a church and had sexual intercourse with her against her will.
She escaped and made a report to the police.
The boys were subsequently arrested and charged following a question-and-answer session.
Their court date is pending.
Alleged Rape and Burglary Incident in Hanover, Jamaica
On Monday, January 29, 2024, authorities in Hanover filed charges against a suspect involved in the intrusion and rape of a woman in Hanover. The accused individual is Jevaughn Jones, also known as ‘Jav’, a 22-year-old plumber residing in Central Flat, Kingsvale.
According to police reports, the incident took place on Saturday, January 20, 2024, around 10 a.m., when the woman was alone at her residence. Allegedly, the suspect gained entry into her bedroom and committed the assault.
Following the victim’s report, Jones was arrested and interviewed on Monday, January 29, leading to the filing of charges against him. The court date for this case is pending.
Two attempted robbery suspects were held with a fake firearm.
The Half Way Tree police have reported that they have taken two men into custody after they allegedly used an imitation firearm during a robbery attempt along Molynes Road in Kingston 10 on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
The accused were identified and arrested after their target managed to escape and seek assistance from a nearby police team. The police team swiftly responded, pursuing the suspects and eventually catching two men fitting the robber’s description in the vicinity of Spanish Town Road.
Upon accosting and searching the suspects, the police successfully recovered the imitation weapon from one of them. As a result, the alleged perpetrators were taken into custody pending further investigations. Such proactive police work demonstrates the commitment to ensuring public safety and apprehending individuals involved in criminal activities.

A Security guard is charged with assault of a 14-year-old boy
A 42-year-old security guard has been accused of assaulting a 14-year-old boy at a bus stop in Pembroke Hall, St. Andrew.
The police reported that the teen was forcefully pulled along the road by the man. Dwayne Lemond is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm and malicious destruction of property. His court date is currently being arranged.
The incident took place on the morning of January 25, at approximately 10:45 a.m., when the boy was reportedly attacked by the accused, who grabbed him and repeatedly struck him in the face. Subsequently, the teen was purportedly dragged along the road, resulting in bruises to his body and damage to his school uniform.
Following the police’s intervention, the suspect was apprehended and charged. The injured boy received medical treatment at the hospital while investigations into the matter are ongoing.
