KINGSTON, Jamaica–In a shocking incident at the Michael Manley Market on Pine Street in McIntyre Villa, commonly known as Dunkirk, in East Kingston, one man was shot dead, and six others, including a one-year-old infant, were left wounded.

The deceased man, identified as ‘Tyson,’ was in his 30s, with a slim build and a height of approximately 6 feet. He had a brown complexion and was wearing a grey t-shirt and blue shorts.
Among the injured were a woman and a member of the Harbour View football club.
According to reports from the media, the tragic incident occurred around 12:50 pm. A black motorcar pulled up at the market gate, and a group of armed men wielding handguns and rifles exited the vehicle. Without any regard for the innocent bystanders, they opened fire indiscriminately, striking the victims multiple times.
Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene and transported the injured individuals to the hospital. Sadly, ‘Tyson’ succumbed to his injuries, while the others, including the young baby boy, were admitted for medical treatment. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the ruthless attack.

MONTEGO BAY, ST JAMES, Jamaica– On the morning of Tuesday, December 5, 2023, law enforcement officers from the Barnett Street police station swiftly responded to an incident on Market Street in Montego Bay. An unidentified assailant targeted and fatally shot Wesley Lee Reid, a 29-year-old mason from Catherine Hall, who was out on bail after being charged with triple murder.

According to reports, Reid and his mother were returning home from the St James Parish court, where his bail had just been extended. At approximately 11:48 am, they were approached by an armed man who indiscriminately opened fire. Reid sustained fatal gunshot wounds to his upper body and head, while his mother was injured on her left hand.
The Barnett Street Police were quick to arrive at the scene and promptly transported both victims to the hospital. Tragically, Reid was pronounced dead upon arrival, while his mother was admitted for necessary medical attention.
Prior to this incident, Reid had been charged with the triple murder that occurred on June 2, 2023, in Mars District, Roehampton. The victims of that horrific crime were Conroy ‘Beenie’ Lawrence, a 38-year-old warehouse attendant; Shevan ‘King Kong’ Gordon, a 38-year-old tiler; and Carlesley ‘Shotta’ Morris, a 56-year-old taxi operator.
