Detectives in Manchester said they charged a 28-year-old suspect with the early morning shooting that left two men injured on November 25, 2023.

The police named the suspect Akeem Barrett, also known as ‘Boyzie’ and ‘Kacey,’ aged 28, a construction worker from Three Chains District, Manchester.
The police charged Barrett with shooting with intent, aggravated assault, wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
The police report that at about 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, the complainants were walking along a roadway when a motorcar with Barrett and another man pulled up.
Barrett then brandished a gun and opened fire on the complainants, hitting them multiple times.
The police responded and transported the men to the hospital, where the authorities admitted them for medical care.
The police launched an investigation, which led them to apprehend Barrett. The police subsequently charged him after interrogation in the presence of his attorney.
Barrett remains in custody as he awaits his day before a judge.
The police will continue their search for Barrett’s accomplice.
St James police charged ‘Rockie’ wounding with intent.
On Saturday, December 2, 2023, St. James police charged Ansel Reid, o/c ‘Rocky,’ 55, of Hampton District in St. James, with wounding with intent concerning a stabbing incident on Saturday, August 12, 2023, in Hampton District.

According to the police, at about 12:15 p.m. on the day in question, Reid and the complainant had a dispute, which turned into a physical altercation. During the melee, Reid allegedly used a knife and stabbed the complainant multiple times.
The police responded and transported the wounded man to the hospital, where the authorities admitted him for treatment.
The police launched an investigation, which led to Reid’s arrest.
On December 2, 2023, the police charged Reid after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
Reid remains in custody as he awaits his day in court.
