Law enforcement officers in St. Catherine have yet to identify a man whom a lone thug shot and killed as he gets a haircut inside a barbershop in Bendon District in Kitson Town, St. Catherine, on Friday, October 6, 2023.
According to reports, at about 3:30 p.m., the man was seated in a barber chair at a barber shop in the community, getting a haircut, when an unknown assailant attacked him.
The gunman reportedly shot him several times in the head.
The Police responded to the scene and transported the victim to the Spanish Town Hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
The St Catherine North police are investigating.
Security Forces shot five, one fatally at a security checkpoint in downtown Kingston.

The authorities identified the deceased as Marvin Cummings, age 23, and said two of the those injured were female students under 18 years old.
The incident occurred along Oxford and Beeston streets at approximately 11 p.m.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) says. It has launched an investigation.
According to INDECOM, JDF, and the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), members confirmed that they fired shots in response to being shot at by men traveling on motorcycles.
INDECOM and the JCF Scene of Crime Unit processed the scene. The authorities recovered over 50 spent casings at the location.
Police seized a submachine gun in Faith’s Pen, St. Ann.
On Friday, October 6, 2023, law enforcement officers in St. Ann seized a sub-machine gun and thirty assorted rounds of ammunition during an operation in Faith’s Pen in Moneague, St. Ann.
According to reporting, at about 4:10 p.m., a team of police officers acted on information and searched a section of the roadway in the Faith’s Pen community and found the weapon.
The Police said the culprits wrapped the gun and ammunition in pieces of clothing, placed it inside a bag, and hit it underneath a tree.
The Police did not make any arrests.
Videographer Charged With Shooting With Intent
Police in Manchester arrested and charged a suspect they identified as one of the gunmen who shot at them during an operation in the Montpelier community last week.
Detectives charged Jamar Dawkins, age 29, a videographer from St. Paul’s District, manchester, with five counts of shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
The charges stemmed from an incident in the Montpelier district in the parish where law enforcement officers in an unmarked service vehicle got attacked by Dawkins, his brother, and other accomplices.
The men reportedly fired several shots at the Police. The Police returned fire and fatally shot one of the assailants. Dawkins and the other gunmen escaped.
Later the same day, Dawkins visited the Santa Cruz police and reported his brother getting shot and his involvement in the incident earlier.
The Police arrested Dawkins and subsequently charged him following an interview in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is pending, and the Police are seeking his accomplices.
