The daughter of a PNP activist was murdered in downtown Kingston.

The Police reported that the daughter of popular PNP activist and aspiring councilor for the Admiral Town Division, Louise ‘Pumbles’ Newland, was shot and killed by armed thugs Sunday night, October 1, 2023, in downtown Kingston.

Dead is Anique Walters, age 31, security supervisor of a Benbow Street address, Kingston.

According to unconfirmed reports, at about 10:45 p.m., Sunday night, Walters and a man pulled up in a Black motor on Orange Street near Orange Villa. Minutes later, armed thugs opened fire on the couple, hitting Walters in the upper body and the unidentified man in the leg.

The authorities at the Kingston Public Hospital pronounced Walters dead and admitted the man for treatment. The man remains in hospital.

Law enforcement officers have taken a suspect into custody but said it was too early to establish a clear motive for the killing.

However, based on preliminary reports, some people believe the shooting was gang-related because of the feud between the Upsetter and the Superstar gangs.
