The St. Ann police have widened the scope of their investigation into the seizure of one .38 revolver and seven homemade firearms recovered from the bedroom of a man found dead at home on Saturday.
The police identified the deceased as 46 Stenneth Peart, age 46, a late electrician from Content District in Bohemia, St. Ann.
According to reporting, Peart died Saturday morning, September 10, 2023, at about 11:00 a.m., after complaining of having chest pains.
Later in the day, family members stumbled upon a bag containing a loaded .38 revolver while clearing out a room and alerted the police.
Upon arrival, the police found seven additional homemade guns, including one loaded with a 9mm cartridge.
The police did not make any arrests, but the investigation continues.
A St. Ann man died in a suspected hit-and-run.
ST ANN, Jamaica— Police in St. Ann launched an investigation into the death of a man killed in a suspected hit-and-run along the Ocho Rios Bypass in St. Ann on Sunday, September 10, 2023
The police identified the deceased as Richard Anderson, age 47, of a St. Ann address.
According to the Ocho Rios Police, at about 6:40 p.m., Sunday, September 10, Anderson was standing along the roadway when a motor vehicle allegedly hit him and sped off.
When the police arrived, they found Anderson lying on the ground in a pool of blood. Authorities at the hospital pronounced Anderson dead on arrival.
Law enforcement officers in St. Ann appealed to the motor vehicle driver to turn themself over to the nearest police station.
The investigation continues.
A three-week-old infant died following a two-vehicle collision in Trelawny.
The Trelawny police reported the passing of a three-week-old infant from Patrick City, Kingston 20. Danella Morgan died in the hospital from injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle collision along the Coopers Main Road in Trelawny on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
According to the police, at about 4:20 p.m., baby Danella and her parents were en route to Montego Bay in a blue Toyota Yaris motor car. The vehicle collided with a purple Nissan Juke motor car, injuring baby Danella and her parents.
The police transported Danella, her parents, and two other persons who were passengers in the Nissan Juke to the hospital.
Hospital authorities pronounced Danella dead and admitted the others in stable condition.
The police have launched an investigation.
Man charged after allegedly stabbing ex-girlfriend multiple times.
ST THOMAS, Jamaica— St Thomas police charge a suspect accused of allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house in Morant Bay, St. Thomas, and stabbing her multiple times.
The police charged Junior Edwards, age 48, a laborer of Trinityville, with burglary and unlawful wounding.
According to the Morant Bay Police, at about 5:18 a.m. on August 29, 2023, Edwards reportedly forced open a window and entered the complainant’s home.
The complainant became afraid and ran from the house, but the accused allegedly chased and stabbed her with a knife several times.
The complainant reported the incident to the police and confirmed that the two had recently ended a relationship.
The police launched an investigation and arrested Edwards. The police charged after a question-and-answer session.
Edwards’ court date is pending.
