The Joint Anti-Gang Task Force (JAGTF) executed a planned early morning intel-led operation on August 31, 2023, on Riverside Drive in New Haven, St. Andrew. At the end of the mission, the police made significant breakthroughs in their ongoing efforts to locate and arrest wanted criminals.

Money was also located in gift bags atop a chest of drawers, and coins were found organized in small plastic bags atop a chest of drawers.

Receipt books and a money-counting machine were also seized, indicating the volume and scale of financial transactions.

The police arrested two women on reasonable suspicion of involvement in illegal lottery scamming activities, possession of criminal property, and money laundering.

The lawmen said the operation is a testament that JAGTF is committed to ensuring community safety and combating illicit activities.

The investigation is ongoing. And the police promised further updates as new developments arise.

Thugs gunned down a tire repairman along March Pen Road, Spanish Town.

The Spanish Town police are investigating the fatal shooting of a tire repairman in the March Pen Road community on Wednesday night, August 30, 2023. 

The police identified the deceased as Dwight Edwards, age 40.

According to reporting, at about 9:10 p.m., residents heard explosions coming from a section of the community and alerted the police.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found Edwards’ body slumped on a bicycle with multiple gunshot wounds to his body along the roadway.

They transported him to the hospital, where he died.

The police did not establish a motive for the killing. The investigation continues.

Porus police seized an illegal firearm and ammunition during a traffic stop.

Porus police arrested a Clarendon male suspect following the seizure of a prohibited weapon and multiple rounds of Ammo at a traffic stop along the Porus main Road in Manchester on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

The police release stated that at about 10:00 a.m., law enforcement officers conducted a vehicle checkpoint along the Porus Main Road. The cops randomly signaled the driver of a Toyota mini-bus to stop.

The driver complied. The police observed a male passenger acting suspiciously. 

They accosted and searched the suspect and found one Browning 9MM pistol containing six rounds of ammunition in his possession.

The police arrested the suspect but withheld his identity pending further investigations.
