ST JAMES, Jamaica— On Saturday, August 19, 2023, a gunman sprayed a man with bullets during an attack in the Wagon Wheel district in Lilliput, St James.

According to reporting, 36-year-old George Graham, a farmer from the Wagon Wheel district, died on the spot after the gunman reportedly fired his weapon more than ten times at him.
The police said at about 2:10 pm, Graham parked his car, and as he attempted to descend, a white Nissan Tiida motor car pulled up. A man armed with a firearm alighted and approached the driver’s side of Graham’s car and fired multiple shots, hitting Graham in the upper body.
The armed thug then escaped in the Tiida.
The police transported Graham to the hospital, where the authorities confirmed him dead.
While processing the scene, the police reportedly recovered 18 9mm spent casings at the crime scene.
The police did not give a motive for the shooting. An active investigation is in progress.
Police charged a teenager with breaches of the Fire Arms Act.
The St Catherine South Police confirmed that the 16-year-old boy they arrested on August 16, 2023, following a firearm and ammunition seizure at his home on Walkers Avenue, Gregory Park, had been charged with several breaches of the Firearms Act.

The police said that law enforcement officers were on an operation in the area at about noon on the day in question when they searched a house occupied by the teen.
During the search, the police seized one .38 revolver containing one .38 round of ammunition which they allegedly found in the teen’s possession.
The police arrested the teen and subsequently charged him with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and removal of marks on a firearm.
The suspect’s court appearance date is pending.

The St James police said they had charged Wesley Reid, o/c ‘Oshane,’ age 28, with three counts of murder, possessing a prohibited weapon, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
The charges stemmed from the shooting deaths of 38-year-old Conroy Lawrence, o/c ‘Beenie,’ a warehouse attendant; 38-year-old Shevan Gordon, o/c ‘King Kong’ and ‘Kong Terry,’ a tiler; and 56-year-old Carlesley Morris, o/c ‘Shotta,’ a taxi operator, all of Roehampton in St James.
According to the Montego Bay police, at about 9:20 pm, on June 2, 2023, residents reportedly heard explosions and alerted them.
Upon arrival, the police found Gordon and Lawrence lying beside a shop with chop wounds to their heads, and Morris was seen close by with gunshot wounds.
The police transported the victims to the hospital, where they died.
The police launched an investigation which led them to arrest Reid. The police charged him on Saturday, August 19, 2023, after a question and answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His court appearance date is pending.
