The driver of a Honda CRV was reportedly burnt beyond recognition.

TRELAWNY, Jamaica – According to media reporting, the driver of a Honda CRV got burnt beyond recognition after a fiery motor vehicle accident involving a trailer truck on the Hague main road in Trelawny on Monday afternoon, July 24, 2023.

The vehicle reportedly was traveling towards Duncans, bursting into flames on impact, with the trailer traveling in the opposite direction.

The male driver reportedly got trapped in the furnace.

The accident has resulted in a massive build-up of traffic along the thoroughfare.

Police charged a thug after the gun he held at complainant’s neck misfired

The police reported that the man who assaulted a complainant with a firearm while attending a wake in St Andrew in May 2023 is in police custody for breaches of the Firearms Act.

On Friday, July 21, 2023, the police charged Tajay Blackwood, age 21, with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and assault at common law after a questioned-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court appearance date is pending.

According to the police, on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at about 1:30 am, the complainant attended a wake at Four Forty Drive in St Andrew when he and Blackwood got physical with each other.

During the altercation, a group of men in Blackwood’s company intervened. And Blackwood allegedly took a firearm from one of the men, placed it under the complainant’s neck, and pulled the trigger. Fortunately for the complainant, the gun misfired.

The complainant ran out of his boots to the police station and made a report. 

Following an investigation, the police arrested Blackwood. 

They charged him on Friday, Jul 21, 2023.

The police are actively seeking his accomplices.
