The police confirmed that they shot and killed a man in an early morning shoot-out on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in Maroon Town, Montego Bay, St James. 

According to preliminary reports, at about 3:30 a.m., a police team came under heavy gunfire in the Shaw Castle area of Maroon Town.

The police say they battled the gunmen for several hours. 

But when all was said and done, the police found one man suffering from gunshot wounds clutching a prohibited weapon.

The police rushed the wounded man to the hospital, where he died.

Armed thugs gunned down man near Spanish Town bus stop.

Spanish Town police reported that armed thugs gunned down a man in Clayton Heights, Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Monday, July 17, 2023.

So far, the police could only identify the deceased as “Gas Boss Bredda.”

According to reports, at about 7:00 pm, the man was standing near a bus stop along the roadway when armed thugs attacked him and opened gunfire, hitting him several times.

Concerned citizens alerted the police. Upon arrival, the police found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. 

The police rushed the wounded man to the hospital, where he died.

Investigators are still on the scene. 

A Portland bookstore customer was stabbed to death as he purchase items.

The Portland Police Department confirmed that the parish recorded its 9th murder of the year on Monday, July 17, 2023, following the fatal stabbing of a customer as he made purchases at a bookstore on Harbour Street in Port Antonio. 

Law enforcement officers identified the deceased as Robert Grant, a late resident of Harper’s Lane in the parish.

The police said the incident occurred at about 4:05 pm at a bookstore in Morgan’s Plaza. The victim was getting ready to purchase items when a man attacked him. 

A skirmish ensued, and the man allegedly stabbed Grant multiple times. 

Concerned citizens summoned the police. The police found Grant lying face down in a pool of blood. They rushed him to the hospital, where he died.

The police are looking for a man called ‘Gaza’ concerning the murder.
