Denham Town detectives charged a 22-year-old man with the murder of a 29-year-old Kingston chef, Damion Cummings, whom he allegedly gunned down in the Sunlight Street community in downtown Kingston last month.

The police identified the accused man as Nickoy’ Bun Dog’ Waldron, age 22, a tiler from Walker’s Crescent, Campbell Boulevard, in Kingston 11.
The police charged Waldron with murder, conspiracy to murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
The Denham Town police said at about 1 pm on June 22, 2023, citizens in the Sunlight Street Community heard loud explosions coming from the Sunlight Street area and alerted the police.
Upon arrival, the police found Cummings lying face down in a yard with gunshot wounds.
The police transported him to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he died.
Detectives arrested Waldron on Friday, July 7, 2023, and pressed charges later in the day following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His court appearance date is pending.
Police confirmed two of the men charged with abduction are brothers.
Detectives responsible for the Portmore Community confirmed that two of the three men the police charged with the abduction of a child under 16 years old are brothers.
The police said 19-year-old Kenrick Smalling, and 21-year-old Ricky Smalling, both from Braeton Phase 1 in Greater Portmore, are siblings. The police charged the two siblings and 19-year-old Andre Barrett, of 7 East, also in Greater Portmore, with abducting a child under 16.
The investigations are in the care of detectives assigned to the St Catherine South Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.
The three underage girls met with the men at about 4:30 pm on Sunday, July 2, 2023, and went to a motel in the Back Road section of the Port Henderson area.
One of the children’s mothers reportedly learned about the incident and alerted the police.
The men ran as the police arrived. But the police intercepted them along the Newland main road and arrested them.
The police charged the men after a questioned and answer session in the presence of their attorneys.
The police are yet to finalize their court appearance date.
