Thugs shot up Jashii’s entourage in early morning attack.

Dancehall artiste Jashii narrowly escaped death early Friday morning, July 7, 2023, when unknown assailants opened fire on a convoy transporting him and his entourage along Constant Spring Road in St Andrew. Jashii was unharmed, but six members of his entourage were injured.

According to the police, the incident, which went viral on social media, occurred about 4:30 am, Friday Morning in the vicinity of Market Place on Constant Spring Road, where the artist attended a birthday party in his honor at Club Mecca.

The police said that just as the vehicles existed, the Club Mecca compound onto Constant Spring Road reportedly came under heavy gunfire from men traveling on motorcycles, injuring six entourage members.

None of the injuries are life-threatening, and Jashii, who reportedly scampered from the scene, was unharmed.

The police recovered several 5.56 spent casings from the crime scene.

Some residents in sections of Grants Pen Road had expressed concern for the entertainer’s safety last month after an incident allegedly involving the artiste sparked tension in the area.

The police wanted to speak with Jashii following tension in the community after the June 7 murder of 45-year-old Omar ‘Romie’ Wright.

Wright was killed by unknown assailants in Grants Pen, St Andrew.
