The St Catherine police have confirmed that they took three men into custody on child abduction charges after they attempted to book into a motel with three underage girls on Back Road, Port Henderson, Portmore, in St Catherine on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
The police identified the men as Kenrick Mullings, age 19, self-employed, of a Braeton Phase 1 address; Ricky Smalling, age 21, self-employed, of a Braeton Phase 1 address; and Andre Barrett, age 19, unemployed, of #7 East, Greater Portmore, St Catherine.
According to the police, the three men allegedly attempted to book a room in a popular motel on Back Road with three girls ages 12, 13, and 13. The girls reportedly left their homes to link up with the men on Sunday afternoon.
A concerned citizen alerted the police after suspecting that the girls were underage.
The police responded in short order and apprehended all six persons after they attempted to flee.
The three male suspects are in police custody at the Greater Portmore lockup, while the three girls are now in state care.
The police are yet to finalize a court date for the three accused.

A joint special operation between members of the Jamaica Fugitive Apprehension Team (JFAT), Lottery Scam Task Force (LSTF), and counterparts from the United States of America (USA) executed a warrant of extradition on a female in the Montego Bay, St James on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
The lawmen report that the operation targeted 36-year-old Sereika Goodison, a Customer Service Representative of Paradise Acres, Norwood Meadows in St James.
According to the local police, United States law enforcement authorities wanted Goodison for mail fraud, wire fraud, and lottery scamming.
The police arrested Goodison pending an extradition hearing.
Reports are that police went to the female’s home, and during a search, she was located and taken into custody.
Thugs shot two people, one fatally, at a nine-night in Hanover.
The Hanover police had confirmed that unknown assailants invaded a nine-night in Chester Castle, Hanover, Thursday night, July 6, 2023. They shot and killed one man and injured another.
The police identified the deceased as Chadwick Wright, age 19, a Chester Castle, Hanover resident.
According to the police, at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, Wright was among a group of persons attending a nine-night in the community when armed thugs invaded the space and opened gunfire–hitting Wright and another man before escaping on foot.
Concerned citizens summoned the police to the scene. Upon arrival, the police rushed both victims to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced Wright dead and admitted the other person in serious condition.
The police could not pinpoint a motive for the shooting, but they have launched a probe to determine who is responsible.
