On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, the police charged Tiandra Reid with murder following the fatal shooting of Robert Harvey in Gordon Crossing, St James, on May 15, 2023.
According to the police report, Reid, age 20, a sales representative from Montego Bay, arranged to meet with the deceased, Robert Harvey, age 42, a JUTA operator, via cell phone and told him she was interested in a vehicle he had for sale.
Harvey drove the vehicle to Gordon Crossing District in St James. And while he waited on the buyer, men armed with guns in a Toyota Corolla Axio motorcar opened gunfire, hitting him all over his body before escaping. The police believed Reid was aboard the vehicle with the gunmen.
Residents summoned the police to the scene. Upon arrival, the police rushed Harvey to the hospital, where he died.
The police launched a probe which led to Reid’s arrest on June 6, 2023.
The police charged her with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and misprision of a felony, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, after a question-and-answer session.
Her court date is pending.
Police charged a US resident held with ammunition at Sangster Airport.
The police charged a US resident after authorities caught her with several rounds of ammunition while boarding a flight at Sangster International Airport in St. James.
The police arrested and charged Christina Hedgepeth, 49, of North Carolina in the United States, with unauthorized possession of ammunition following the seizure on Tuesday.
According to the police, Ms. Hedgepeth checked her bag sometime before midday to board a flight out of Montego Bay.
Port security detected anomalies during screening. And during a detailed search of her luggage, the authorities found a black and grey magazine containing five cartridges. As a result, the police arrested and charged Hedgepeth.
She appears in the St James Parish Court on Friday, June 23, 2023.
