ST ANN, Jamaica — According to preliminary reports, an unidentified person succumbed to injuries they sustained in a two-vehicle collision in Runaway Bay, St Ann, Monday morning, June 12, 2023.
According to a preliminary report, the accident occurred in the Pipers Cove area. The report said, at about 12:20 am, a 2009 blue Mazda Demio motor car collided with a 2013 White Toyota Mark X motor car.
Citizens summoned the police and the fire department to the scene. But it is unclear whether there was a fire. The police rushed the unidentified person to the hospital, where he expired.
Cops arrested and charged two men after a homemade firearm seizure.
Law enforcement officers from the St Ann division reported that on June 6, 2023, they arrested and charged two men with breaches of the Firearms Act following an operation during which the police seized an unconventional firearm.
The police identified the accused as Adrian White of Bel Air, Phase 2 in Runaway Bay, St Ann, and Demar Ellis, o/c ‘Lokka,’ an electrician of Heritage district in Manchester and Bel Air, Phase 2. The police charged the men with conversion to a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
According to the police, at about 9 pm on June 6, 2023, the police intercepted a Nissan AD Wagon driven by White, and during a search of the vehicle, the police found two spent 9mm casings in the door on the driver’s side of the car.
The police conducted secondary searches at the homes of the accused men and found an electric drill that was converted into a firearm in the bathroom of the premises.
The police arrested and charged them concerning the seizure.
The accused court appearance date is pending.
