Thugs shot and injured a Linstead Pharmacist over the weekend in an apparent robbery attempt.
A preliminary release from the police stated that at about 8:00 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023, the businessperson had closed his pharmacy and was driving to his abode when armed thugs attacked him along Jericho Main Road.
The police said the thugs shot the pharmacist multiple times.
Residents assisted the injured man to the Linstead Hospital, where the authorities admitted him.
According to reports, the attack sent the business community members into shock.
The Councillor for the Linstead Division, Herbert Garriques, told The Gleaner the following.
“I have known him for years and saw him evolve into a businessperson and deacon in my church, so the church and the general community are affected.”

The Linstead police have launched an investigation into the shooting.
It was not clear whether the criminals robbed the businessperson in the attack.
The police have not given a motive for the shooting.

The police said they had charged Mario Solomon, o/c ‘Pig Skin,’ age 34, a chef, with illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition and wounding with intent using a firearm.
The police arrested Solomon in a targeted operation on Friday, June 02, 2023. The police charged him following a question-and-answer session.
According to the police report, at about 11:50 pm, on Monday night, August 1, 2022, Solomon was traveling in a motor truck with two other men, and they opened gunfire on a group of people along Constant Spring Road in St Andrew.
The police say two members of the group sustained multiple gunshot injuries.
Citizens alerted the police. Upon arrival, the police assisted the injured men to the hospital, where the authorities treated the men.
Solomon and the other men escaped into the area.
The police launched an investigation, and Solomon was arrested and later charged.
His court appearance date is pending.
