A few weeks after, thugs attacked and robbed a Beryllium Limited courier van at the Scotiabank in Portmore as guards attempted to service an automated teller machine at the bank; the company confirmed an attempted robbery of another Beryllium Limited armored vehicle on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in St Elizabeth.

According to Lieutenant Commander George Overton, head of corporate communications at Guardsman Group, there were no injuries in the incident, and no money was stolen.
Overton said the incident took place near Balaclava at about 1:30 pm. And the vehicle was in transit when the would-be robbers attacked.
“They were mobile. There was an attempt to block the road. However, they were able to evade the roadblock, and the criminals shot at the vehicle as it escaped,” he disclosed.

In February 2023, armed robbers attacked a Beryllium team, killing one guard and injuring two others at Portmore Pines Plaza in St Catherine. The robbers got away with $10 million in cash.
A few weeks later, armed thugs pulled off another Beryllium robbery at the Scotiabank in Portmore as armed security guards attempted to service automated teller machines at the bank.
The robbers made off with $23 million.

A third grader at the Meadowbrook Preparatory School in St Andrew came close to death on Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 2023, when unknown thugs attacked and killed the driver of the motorcycle on which she was the pillion—the deceased was her stepfather. And the incident took place at the school gate.
Sources said the traumatized child quickly jumped from the motorcycle and ran to the school’s compound as the shooters attacked.
The police have not yet identified the deceased, but many believed he was a resident of Casava Piece in St Andrew.
A man who claimed he saw the shooting unfold said the following about the deceased:
“He was waiting a long time on the little girl, and by the time she went on the bike, and it was moving off, we just saw her running back,” said the man.

The incident happened around 3:30 pm, and the authorities contacted parents to pick up their children immediately.
